Dance
I am dancing under bright white lights
My hat is shaped like Cat in the Hat’s
But unlike Cat’s hat, mine is fat and green and white
striped
The curtain was pitch black with shadows raining down
I was dancing a slow but vibrant dance
The tune was fast but was like the rocking music you
hear today
The stage was as hard as a rock
Maybe harder
Solid maple wood
I could hear the echoes of people talking from far
distance
The crowd was clapping to the song
Little kids
Big kids
And some very, very small kids
They all were dancing to the tune
People were throwing flowers at me in the end.
I Am
I’m as fast as a hawk, shooting down from above.
The above is tall, higher than the jet you would see
racing across the sky in mid-afternoon.
The noon day would soon rush into dusk.
I eat like a lion that hasn’t swallowed in days.
I talk as fast
as a swallow chirping rapidly in the air.
I sound like a music box playing with distant others
from a well guided school.
I am as smart as
the people you see doing the Rubrics Cube.
I am as colorful as a tangerine, so brightly colored
orange.
I am bewildered
of the moon like how wolves cry in dismay.
But I’m the
kind of person that shatters everything when touched.

I Am a Mountain
I am a mountain that shivers from cold winter chills.
Villages surround the base of my feet.
Younglings are freezing from chills.
I can feel children sledding thousands of feet below.
Hoofing of deer,
Little rabbits,
And the pitter patter of swallow’s feet.
Water runs down the sides of me.
Lakes build up in the spring
And then disappear.
The lakes reappear in late fall.
Fog always blinds my vision for
Seeing far places.
