P.M.
GLENS
FALLS, NY- Stephen M. Jones,
24, was caught earlier this morning in Philadelphia,
PA. At 12:15 p.m., Nov. 5th, Mr. Jones
broke a window in Mildred R. Clay’s house.
Mrs. Clay, age 58, was getting back to her house on Chester Street, Glens Falls
from her bridge club and saw her window was smashed. She immediately called police at 2:00 P.M.. There were no witnesses or surveillance. This made it hard for police since there was
not much evidence. Fingerprints were later found on the glass. Police traced the fingerprints to ones from
an earlier crime Jones had committed.
The reason Jones’ committed the crime was to go to Philadelphia, PA.
to see his family. Jones could go to
prison for up to two years.

The Santa Sprint Walk in Lake Luzerne
LAKE
LUZERNE, NY
- On November 19, 2007 the Santa Sprint walk began at the Hadley~Luzerne Central School
parking lot. The woman running it for many years, Mrs. Mary-Claire Noakes went
on the walk, also. The program has been ongoing for 24 years. This year the 3rd,
4th, 5th, and 6th graders together rose over $8,000 to pay for kids
who could not afford their own presents for the holidays.
Mrs. Noakes hoped to raise
$9,000 this year. Over 120 school
children went on the walk; the amount aimed for was 130-150 kids. Many adults went, too. Most of these walkers rose over $30, which
was the minimum requirement to be able to participate. The top pledge
collectors were able to go shopping for the presents for the ones being helped.
Mr. Trowbridge and Mr.
Diamond from SMTMS went on the walk as well.
Mr. Trowbridge announced that “November 19th is now
officially Santa Sprint Day in the towns of Hadley and Lake Luzerne!”
Everyone cheered happily and loudly as he finished saying this.
