Letter from Superintendent Baker

Dear Faculty, Staff, Students, Parents, and Community Members,

As many of you may know, our Capital Improvement Project construction is currently underway in the Jr./Sr. High School. Over the past few months, we have watched our construction team work diligently to make improvements to the campus, including the much-needed renovations to our High School Alice Harris Auditorium. On behalf of the Hadley-Luzerne Central School District, it is my pleasure to announce that the renovations to the Alice Harris Auditorium will be debuted to the public at the Class of 2019 Graduation Ceremony.

On Friday, June 28, 2019, at 7:00 pm, we invite students and family members to join us as we gather in this beautiful space to celebrate the achievements of the Class of 2019. This is a particularly special time in Hadley-Luzerne history, as this will be the first graduation ceremony to be held in the Alice Harris Auditorium since 1974.

The space features air conditioning, new seats, and improved theater viewing. However, as a part of this transition, we would like to remind families of the limited number of seats. Each graduating student will be allotted 10 tickets to disperse to family members and friends. Doors will be opened for ticket-holding attendees at 6:00 pm. We hope that this accommodates all who wish to attend this event but restrictions on seat numbers will be strongly enforced. This is due primarily to safety capacity and our efforts to improve the comfort, viewing capabilities, and the overall experience of the event. We would also like to remind each family to consider the limited amount of handicap seating in the auditorium. Should this be a concern, please contact Mrs. Kristal Allen at (518) 696-2112 Ext. 3105.

Post-ceremony, the district will host a reception on the field next to the auditorium (weather permitting.) This event is open to the public and will not require tickets. This will be a wonderful opportunity to gather and take photos with friends and family. Should the weather be unsatisfactory, the event will take place in the High School cafeteria.

We anticipate a beautiful graduation ceremony experience for the Class of 2019 and for future years to come in the new-and-improved Alice Harris Auditorium. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact me at the district office.
