ADVOCACY IS WORKING, NEEDS TO CONTINUE

Albany’s annual budget negotiation process continues and our community advocacy urging Governor Cuomo and our legislators to address the Gap Elimination Adjustment (GEA) are working, but need to continue. Over the next two weeks, the final details of the budget will be negotiated. Our district has lost over $4 million to the GEA, including over $500,000 last year. Please visit our website www.hlcs.org and select the SU4US HLCSD Advocacy link. This link will reveal addresses, email addresses and websites for each of our elected officials. Consider writing a letter or sending an email to our elected officials encouraging them to continue to fight to eliminate GEA and to fund our schools equitably. If each of us do just a little, great things can happen. If we do nothing, we can expect nothing in return.
