Our district has an opportunity to reconfigure the grades to support student academic and personal development. An informational forum will be held on Tuesday, November 19th at 7:00 PM in the Alice Harris High School Auditorium.
The proposal presented will be on reconfiguring the grade levels, starting September 2014. The grade reconfiguration will result in students from PK-6 attending classes at the current middle school site on Hyland Drive. Students in grades 7-12 will attend school at the current elementary/high school on Lake Avenue. Key points about grade reconfiguration include academic, developmental and professional alignment, building renovation, financial impact and community support. To participate in discussions regarding this reconfiguration please attend this informational forum on Tuesday, November 19th, at 7:00 PM in the high school auditorium or attend any meeting of the board of education or contact Mr. Berry directly with questions.

The Saratoga-Warren County Music Educators’ Association was formed in order to provide enriched musical experiences for our music students in grades 5-12 and share in efforts to stimulate interest in the study of music and encourage a carryover of school music training into the musical, social, and home life of the community. SWCMEA sponsors several festivals each year for students involved in band, chorus, orchestra, and jazz ensemble programs. In addition to sponsoring a scholarship competition each spring and graduation award for each member school district. The membership includes seventeen school districts and over one hundred thirty music teachers. The first festival of this year was held at Galway CSD on Saturday, October 19th with the following district students who performed, and instructed by our teachers, Mrs. Crombach and Mr. Iachetta:
Grades 10-12: Lakota Bala and Kayla Book on clarinet, Matthew Belden on baritone horn, Kiernan Fitzpatrick and Robert Melillo on trumpet. Grades 8-9: Mackenzie Jerome on trumpet. Grades 6-7: Sean Brosnan and Cody York on trumpet. For more information visit

The purpose of the account is to add an additional media communication method to the school community. Community members are invited to follow us at HL_CSD.
