Hadley-Luzerne High School is pleased to announce the induction of twenty two new members into the National Honor Society for 2013-14. Recognizing our students’ academic accomplishments is a most important goal for the National Honor Society and our district. The Hadley-Luzerne High School Select Choir performed a beautiful rendition of our National Anthem which was followed by the traditional induction and candlelight ceremonies. Our National Honor Society Officers, William Scofield, President, Rachel Powers, Vice President, Amanda Powers, Secretary, and Keeana Benway, Treasurer, played key roles in preparing for and presiding over this event. Come help us celebrate “Hadley-Luzerne High School Night” with the Adirondack Phantoms hockey team at the Glens Falls Civic Center on Saturday, November 2nd at 7:00 pm. Our high school select choir will be performing the national anthem. Tickets will be available to pre-order through October 25th in the high school office at a discounted price of $13.00 for adults and $11.00 for children aged 14 years and under. Tickets will be reserved and available for pick up at the “Will Call” window at the GFCC, on the night of the game. Just present a photo id to receive your ticket

Seniors receiving Enhanced STAR benefits are not affected by the new registration requirement.

In order to continue to receive Enhanced STAR, seniors must continue to: apply annually, or participate in the Income Verification Program.


All New York homeowners receiving a Basic STAR property tax exemption must register with the New York State Tax

Department, in order to receive the STAR exemption in 2014 and subsequent years. All Basic STAR recipients will receive

registration instructions by mail from the NYS Department of Tax and Finance. Visit their website at to register now. The registration deadline is: December 31, 2013

This is part of an initiative to protect New Yorkers against the costs of inappropriate or fraudulent STAR exemptions.
