NATIONAL JUNIOR HONOR SOCIETY

Congratulations to the following Stuart M. Townsend Middle School students inducted into the 2013 National Junior Honor Society on Tuesday, May 14th.  Qualifications of inductees include “Five Foundations” which are Scholarship, Leadership, Service, Character and Citizenship.  This year’s inductees are:

8th Grade: Josie Allen, Mariah Davis, Paul Hinerman, Reagan Kelley, Madelyn Morehouse, Tayor Necatera, Brittany Wood

7th Grade: Katarina Ball, Ryan Brooks, Valerie Coppola, Andrew Foley, Shamus Fraser, Cody Hayes, Rachael Kipp, Hanna Lyford, Samantha Nelson, Katlyn Petteys, Devin Weiss, Ashley Wells, Karry Ziegler

6th Grade: Sean Brosnan, Amanda Cook, Sarah Corliss, Tanner DeMarsh, Rheanna Fleming, Emily Johnson, Delaney Locke, Delaney Moulton, Kassidy Plummer, Erik Schreiner, Jessica Skelly, Cody York.

The current members and new inductees ended the ceremony with a beautiful candle light recessional out of the LGI.  Cake and punch were enjoyed following the ceremony as friends, families and faculty enjoyed celebrating the successes of our future leaders.  Thanks to all who attended.

 

HADLEY-LUZERNE COMMUNITY/STUDENT BAND INAUGURAL SEASON

If you currently play, or have played a band instrument in the past, please consider joining our group.  Band Music performed will be accessible for musicians as young as 7th grade.  We would like to welcome any middle schoolers, high schoolers, and parents/community members in the area to rehearse and put on a performance in Mill Park. Our first rehearsal will be Tuesday, May 21st, from 7:00-8:30 PM, in the band room at the Stuart M. Townsend Middle School.  Please bring your instrument and we will provide the music.

Rehearsals will be held every Tuesday, starting May 21st through June 11th from 7:00-8:30 PM in the MS Band Room.

Final performance scheduled for Tuesday, June 18th, 7:00 PM Performance Mill Park, LL. If you would like the opportunity to have fun and make music please contact Joseph Iachetta at 696-2378 ext. 120, or iachettaj@hlcs.org.
