The definition of success is the accomplishment of an aim or purpose.  This basketball season the Varsity Girls team did just that.  Each player brought to this season a positive attitude both on and off the court, strong work ethics, effective leadership skills, and as a results they greatly improved their basketball skills both individually and as a team. Our purpose each season is to allow each player the opportunity to grow as a player, as well as team. The 2012-2013 Varsity Girls basketball season by definition, was a success. Each night that we hit the court we grew together, improved as a team, and we accomplished our team goals that were set before each game. As a coach, I am proud that each player was a part of our team and what we accomplished together. I wish the best of luck to the seniors, Devin Ball, Sequoya Fitzpatrick, Emily Heald, Kathleen McLean, and Kassondra Tremaine, and to the rest of the team…keep practicing for next season! Sincerely, Coach Nevins

Under the direction of Coach Larry Rounds, this year’s varsity wrestling season came with high expectations and many accomplishments.  The team worked very hard throughout the season and were able to finish with an 8 – 6 record with 4 of the 6 losses coming down to the last match.  Highlights of the season include two tournament championships one being the Glens Falls Tournament in a field of 13 teams and the other being the Wasaren League Tournament in a field of 16 teams.  The team also had two other 3rd place finishes, one from the Schenectady Tournament and the other being at the Canajoharie/Fort Plain duals.  Aside from the tournament and dual meet success, the WarEagles were voted the Section II Division Second team Sportsmanship Award and were presented this award before the Section II finals.  With the wrestling team only graduating two seniors, we look forward to next season and challenging for the league title.

Under the direction of Coach Marc Morrison, the 2012-2013 bowling team showed a great deal of improvement over the previous season.  As a team they averaged about 200 pins higher than the year before.  The team was led by Frank Mosher and Drew Cirillo, but strong showings by all team members were a major part of the overall improvement.  The bowling team should be prepared to take the next step in the fall.  Frank Mosher was selected to the Adirondack League Northern Division 1st Team All Star and Drew Cirillo was selected to the 2nd Team All Star.
