HS STUDENT SCHOLAR ATHLETES RECOGNIZED

The Chronicle Award was presented to student athletes– Tiani DeBlois and Scott Broekhuizen at the January 25th  Board of Education Meeting.  Students chosen to receive this award include contributions which exemplify both academic and athletic excellence. Ms. DeBlois and Mr. Broekhuizen were presented with a plaque as well as featured in The Chronicle newspaper, an area weekly with a circulation near 30,000 copies.  Congratulations!

 

MATH FUN NIGHT “MINUTE TO WIN IT”

Attention all Junior High 7th-9th Grade students:  The NYS Mathematics Honor Society is hosting a Math Fun Night called “Minute to Win It” on Thursday, February 11th from 6:00-7:30 PM in the High School Large Gym.  Come and enjoy the fun!  Experience the thrills, laughter and competition. Win Stewarts ice cream cones!  See you there!

HL KINDERGARTEN ROUND-UP 2016

Hadley-Luzerne SMT Elementary School will be conducting its annual Kindergarten Round-Up on Tuesday, May 3 and Wednesday, May 4.  The round-up will take place at the Stuart M. Townsend Elementary School in the LGI Room.  Students are eligible for Kindergarten if they turn five (5) years of age on or before December 1, 2016.  If you read this notice and know of any family member or neighbor with school age children who are eligible to attend Kindergarten, please share this announcement with them.  Please provide the following information and mail to the SMT Elementary School Office, Attn: K-Round Up, P.O. Box 200, Lake Luzerne, NY  12846 :  Name of Child, Date of Birth, Gender, Parent/Guardian Name(s), Mailing Address, Phone, E-mail address. You will receive an informational letter in return that will include a scheduled time for you and your child to attend the Kindergarten Round-Up.  This form is also available on our website HLCS.org.  Should you need any additional information about Kindergarten Round-Up, call the SMT Elementary School at 696-2378 Ext. 101.

 

UNIVERSAL PRE-KINDERGARTEN

Do you have a child at home who will be four years old on or before December 1, 2016?  Do you know someone in the district who does?  If so, your child may be eligible to participate in the Hadley-Luzerne Central School District’s Pre-Kindergarten Program for the 2016-2017 school year.  Our Pre-K program is designed to operate for 2 ½ hours per day and follows the school calendar.  One session will be held each day (8:30-11:00 am).  A second session will be added from 12:00-2:30 pm if the need arises.  Class placements will be based on a lottery – drawing. A highly qualified teacher and certified teaching assistant will conduct the classes.  Letters of acceptance will be mailed by Friday, June 17, 2016.  Please note transportation is not provided.  Parents/Guardians are responsible for dropping off and picking up their children.  If you are interested, we welcome you to join us on Thursday, April 21st at 6:00 PM in the Elementary School Media Center for a registration/parent information meeting. Please bring all completed registration materials to register your child.  If you cannot attend the meeting, please mail the required forms by Monday, May 9th (forms are available from the PK-2 SMT Elementary Office, 27 Hyland Drive, Lake Luzerne).  The following is a checklist of forms/reminders needed to help you enter your child into the program:  Registration Form, Physical Form (Physicals will be accepted until August 26, 2016), Birth Certificate and Proof of residency.  Please note your child must be toilet trained.  Please be advised that this is an informational night for parents/guardians only. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact the Elementary School at 696-2112 ext. 101.  We look forward to meeting you at the Pre K registration on April 21st at 6:00 PM.
