After two years of collecting information, listening to community members and groups who care about Hadley-Luzerne Central School, researching options and price estimates, and analyzing district priorities, the Board of Education will pass a resolution to bring forward a Capital Improvement Project Vote for residents to consider. On Tuesday, December 13 2016, from noon to 8 pm in the ES LGI, residents of the Hadley-Luzerne Central School District will vote on a $8,982,000 million Capital Improvement Project that fixes infrastructure, improves safety and accessibility, and includes energy saving measures. We’re not building anything new, and we’re not gutting the inside, we’re just taking care of what we have. The project scope is based on a building condition survey that was completed over the summer. The district’s facilities committee worked closely with the district architect and design firm, Re4orm Architecture and district capital project committee. We are confident the project will help us maintain the facility cost-effectively for years to come. The majority of the Capital Improvement Project attends to infrastructure items that are at, near, or past their useful life, such as HVAC, plumbing, flooring, roofing, sinks and fixtures. A smaller portion relates to bus garage and the Queen Anne. The project is timed to smooth taxpayer burden by replacing debt service payments from previous capital projects.

The Hadley-Luzerne School Board will approve the ballot resolution on October 17, 2016 and specifics of the capital project for the approximate cost of $8,982,000.
