As a construct it is important to remember that a society is only as advanced as its’ Technology

Technology: Within the study of Technology you Learn HOW things work.  Contrasted with science where you learn why things work.  Although often confused, they both work to make life better for all of us.  A comparison of Technology and Science is discussed below:

Technology is:

The study of the human made world, created and manipulated by people, who through innovation and invention have manipulated the natural elements for their benefit.  Technology ask and attempts to answer the question of HOW.

Science is:

The study of the natural world, discovered by people and involves and encompasses observation, measurement and description.  Science asks and attempts to answer Why.
