    Science and Social Studies instruction in third grade at HLCS is taught using the MacMillan- McGraw-Hill Series.  Science and Social Studies instruction is taught on alternating weeks. Tests and quizzes are generally administered every Friday.

Social Studies

 

Theme of the third grade social studies is Communities. Throughout the year we will examine many aspects of community including: the people, history, geography, government and culture.  Students will also work on map skills and be introduced to Document Based Questions.
