Hi, my name is Brianne Martin and I am the School Psychologist for Hadley Luzerne Central School.  This is my fifth year at HLCS. I am responsible for K-12 evaluations, however, the majority of my caseload is at the Middle School. My time is spent working with students with disabilities and students suspected of having a disability.  However, I am able to consult with parents and teachers to help all of our students have a successful school experience. As a School Psychologist, I have received training to work with pre-schoolers, children, adolescents, and their teachers and families.  I work with all school personnel to help make education for students a positive and rewarding experience.  I have specialized training in mental health, child development, learning and motivation. I administer psychoeducational evaluations as part of a special education evaluation to assess any of the following:  intelligence, personality, academic achievement, social and emotional functioning, and adaptive behavior. I spend a good portion of my day writing reports and/or doing paperwork that is mandated by NYS. I work directly with parents and consult about children's learning problems, emotional or behavioral difficulties, and social growth.  I may also help parents find resources in the community to address various concerns for the child and/or family. I work directly with teachers and administrators.  I may provide teachers with information about learning principles, social behavior, classroom management, and academic behavior.  I meet with teachers in consultation about individual children. I sometimes work directly with children who are going through a crisis or consult with our other psychologist and counselors on a child or family going through a crisis.
