When your child is sick and cannot attend school, please call the school as early as possible in the morning and inform the office that your child will be absent. When your child is well again, please write and sign a note for your child to bring to the attendance office when he or she returns to school.

A Unique Partnership

Students in Hadley-Luzerne Central School District are able to receive pediatric primary care services AT SCHOOL, DURING SCHOOL HOURS, FREE OF CHARGE, thanks to a unique partnership with Hudson Headwaters Health Network (HHHN).

ALL STUDENTS in the district are eligible to enroll in Hadley-Luzerne Student Health, a school-based health center located at Stuart M. Townsend Elementary School.

Hadley-Luzerne Student Health is a conveniently located Pediatric Care and Clinic for: 

  • Well child visits
  • Immunizations
  • Screenings
  • Care management for chronic conditions
    • Asthma 
    • Diabetes 
    • ADHD 
  • Medicine checks
  • Physicals
  • Illness or injury referred by the School Nurse
  • Illness that keeps the child home from school

Fast Facts:

  • Services are provided with no out-of-pocket costs to families
  • There are no income or insurance requirements to participate in this program
  • You don’t have to change your pediatrician or primary care doctor  
  • If your child has insurance, HHHN will bill your insurance company if applicable
  • Should your child need additional services outside of Hadley-Luzerne Student Health, HHHN offers financial and billing assistance through budget agreements; a sliding fee discount for medical, dental and other services; and RX Assist for financial assistance with ongoing prescription needs.

Appointments:

Parents can schedule appointments for their children at Hadley-Luzerne Student Health at SMTES. Students may also access services from the health center through direction from the school nurse if they are enrolled in the program. If needed, transportation from the Hadley-Luzerne Junior/Senior High School to Hadley-Luzerne Student Health will be provided by the school.

Hours: 

  • Hadley-Luzerne Student Health at SMTES is open every day school is in session
  • Providers are on-site from 8 a.m.-noon for in-person visits
  • Virtual/telehealth visits can be scheduled with a provider in another HHHN office from noon-2 p.m.
